Dell Incorporates Fastest Intel Processors Across All Computer Product Lines; Mobile Pentium III Debuts in Dell's Fast-Growing Notebook Line

Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today introduced new computer systems with the fastest Intel(R) Pentium(R) III processors.
Intel's new Pentium III processors, based on the 0.18 micron process manufacturing technology, offer advanced transfer cache with advanced system buffering capabilities, ultimately providing significant performance enhancements over processors of the same clock speed with older technology.
The Dell(R) products, which can be ordered now with the new processors, are the Latitude(R) corporate notebook PCs, PowerEdge(R) servers, OptiPlex(R) desktop PCs, Dell Precision(tm) WorkStations, Inspiron(tm) consumer notebooks and the Dimension(R) consumer desktop computer systems.
Corporate Notebooks
The Dell Latitude CPx H500GT corporate notebook, offers the new Intel mobile Pentium III 500MHz processor and the new Dell DualPoint design that integrates two pointing devices: a touch pad and a track stick. The standard Latitude CPx H500GT configuration starting at $2,999 includes three-year, next-business-day, onsite service(1), 64 MB RAM, 4.8 GB(2) hard disk drive, floppy disk drive and 24X(3)-maximum CD-ROM drive. All Latitude C-family notebooks share the same docking and peripherals, including DVD-ROM, CD-ROM, floppy disk drive, additional hard disk drive, LS-120 drive and AC adapter.

> Home and Small Business Notebooks:The Inspiron 3700 and Inspiron 7500 notebook PCs now both offer Intel Pentium III mobile processors at 450 MHz and 500 MHz speeds. With prices starting at $1,999, the Inspiron 3700 features the DualPoint design and a variety of interchangeable peripheral modules. The Inspiron 7500 provides users with desktop-like performance and expandability in a convenient notebook package with prices starting at $2,099. > ServersThe Dell PowerEdge 2400 server expands the price/performance and availability boundaries of Dell workgroup servers by offering one or two new Intel Pentium III processors in either 533 MHz, 600 MHz, 667 MHz, all with 133 MHz front-side bus (FSB). The new Intel Pentium III 700MHz processor is available as an option for PowerEdge 2300 and 4300 server product lines. Available in floor-standing tower or rack-mountable configurations, these PowerEdge servers are well-suited to run corporate Web sites, to manage file/print and application environments, as departmental database servers and for remote access communication services. Prices for the GX110 with the new Pentium III 533 MHz processor start at $1,009.
