Dell Incorporates Fastest Intel Processors Across All Computer Product Lines; Mobile Pentium III Debuts in Dell's Fast-Growing Notebook Line

Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:DELL), the world's leading direct computer systems company, today introduced new computer systems with the fastest Intel(R) Pentium(R) III processors.

Intel's new Pentium III processors, based on the 0.18 micron process manufacturing technology, offer advanced transfer cache with advanced system buffering capabilities, ultimately providing significant performance enhancements over processors of the same clock speed with older technology.

The Dell(R) products, which can be ordered now with the new processors, are the Latitude(R) corporate notebook PCs, PowerEdge(R) servers, OptiPlex(R) desktop PCs, Dell Precision(tm) WorkStations, Inspiron(tm) consumer notebooks and the Dimension(R) consumer desktop computer systems.

Corporate Notebooks

The Dell Latitude CPx H500GT corporate notebook, offers the new Intel mobile Pentium III 500MHz processor and the new Dell DualPoint design that integrates two pointing devices: a touch pad and a track stick. The standard Latitude CPx H500GT configuration starting at $2,999 includes three-year, next-business-day, onsite service(1), 64 MB RAM, 4.8 GB(2) hard disk drive, floppy disk drive and 24X(3)-maximum CD-ROM drive.
