The complaint charges Abercrombie of improperly tipping off an analyst at the brokerage firm of Lazard Freres about the Company's sluggish third quarter growth. This information was made available to Lazard Freres' sales force so that Lazard Freres' preferred customers were able to trade on this inside information. The truth was not disclosed to the investing public until October 13, 1999.
