Ultradata Systems, Inc. Wins $1.8 Million Order for New TravelStar 24 GPS Navigation Unit

ST. LOUIS, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 1, 1999--

Ultradata Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ NMS: ULTR), announced today that it has received a purchase order in the amount of $1.8 million for the new TravelStar(TM) 24 to be delivered in the year 2000. The TravelStar(TM) 24 will be promoted under a private brand by Car Mate(TM), a national consumer electronics distributor.

The TravelStar(TM) 24 is a portable navigation terminal which utilizes Global Positioning Satellites (GPS) to identify the users latitude and longitude coordinates and provides real time route calculations to destinations from the users exact location. Turn-by-turn directions to over 200,000 cities, towns, suburbs and services are provided on a large easy-to-read textual display with voice prompts for turns. TravelStar(TM) 24 incorporates point-of-interest services on Interstates, U.S. Highways, Toll Roads, Parkways and in Cities. Gas, Food, Lodgings, Hospitals, Shopping Malls, Rest Areas and more are included for increased convenience and added safety, security and peace-of-mind.

This first order represents the private brand launch. Car Mate(TM) will promote the brand in the mass merchandise and auto after-market channels.
