Genesys Brings Browser-Based Ease of Use to Human Resources and Payroll:
Business Wire, Sept 13, 1999
METHUEN, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 13, 1999--
WEBWorks Integrated Human Resources/Payroll System enables users to
conduct day-to-day business using Internet Explorer; no
additional software required
Genesys Software Systems, Inc., the Methuen, Mass.-based provider of outsourcing and software applications for human-resource management and payroll services, announced today the availability of its WEBWorks Integrated Human Resources/Payroll System. With WEBWorks, users can conduct their day-to-day business--including complex, high-volume payroll production, data entry, inquiries, reporting and querying--via a standard web-browser interface.
"WEBWorks provides an efficient alternative to basing applications on the Windows-centric client/server model," said Larry Munini, president of Genesys Software Systems. "As a browser-based version of Genesys' field-proven human-resource management and payroll software, WEBWorks retains the flexibility and reliability that are hallmarks of Genesys applications software, while providing the advantages of browser-based systems."
WEBWorks Is Easy to Deploy and Master
Customers can deploy WEBWorks quickly and economically because they don't need to install any software other than a standard web browser on their computers. Instead of proprietary tool sets, Genesys uses advanced standard Web-server and client technology to give WEBWorks users controlled access to Genesys human-resources (HR) or payroll data, thereby distributing functionality and data as needed to any type of users via Internet methodology.
WEBWorks end users can take advantage of business rules, workflow logic, and security features implemented in the server-based Genesys applications. WEBWorks pages, or screens, can be easily customized to harmonize with specific user-organization procedures, policies, and other standards.
WEBWorks employs a straightforward design and an easy-to-use browser interface. Since an ever-increasing number of users are familiar with browsers, and because WEBWorks includes intuitive, point-and-click on-line help, very little training or ancillary documentation is needed to make full use of the system.
WEBWorks enables organizations to integrate links to their own sites into their Genesys implementations. These might be links to corporate HR policy manuals or other corporate information that is important to users. Because style sheets are used to control the appearance of the WEBWorks user interface, organizations can easily customize their integrated Genesys applications to match corporate standards.
Industry-standard web security mechanisms, coupled with robust Genesys security provisions, ensure that sensitive data is protected, whether it flows within secure customer intranets, over the Internet (via secure Virtual Private Network technology), or over private wide-area transmission lines.
Who Can Benefit
The WEBWorks Integrated Human Resources/Payroll System can be run by any organization with the infrastructure to support the internal use of Microsoft Internet Explorer (4.0 or greater) browser-based applications. WEBWorks is available as either a Windows NT- or MVS-based application, and it supports both Microsoft Internet Information Server and Netscape Enterprise Server. WEBWorks is also available to customers of Genesys' ONESource and FULLSource outsourcing services.
The license fee for the WEBWorks Integrated Human Resources/Payroll System depends upon number of employees supported and begins at $140,000. For more information about WEBWorks call toll free 1-800-580-5450 or send email to info@genesys-soft.com.
