FutureTense and PCI Partner to Deliver Web Publishing Solutions; Publishing Connections Inc. Joins the FutureTense Business Partner Program
Business Wire, Sept 14, 1999
ACTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 14, 1999--
FutureTense(R), Inc., a leading developer of next-generation Web publishing software, and publishing technology leader Publishing Connections Inc. (PCI) today announced that PCI has joined the FutureTense Business Partner Program. Initially, PCI will provide their editorial conversion software to FutureTense's professional publishers and corporate customers.
The FutureTense Internet Publishing System's (IPS) open, scalable, standards-based publishing platform combined with PCI's publishing and consulting experience creates new and expanded market opportunities for both companies. PCI's own software, Converter/XT(TM), takes QuarkXpress, QPS, and other front-end editorial systems and creates XML, which in turn feeds the converted files to IPS. This allows those organizations using these editorial systems an easy transition for publishing content directly to the Web.
"We are proud to have a respected publishing software company like PCI join the FutureTense Business Partner Program," said Ronald J. Matros, president and CEO of FutureTense, Inc. "Its unique product offering and software expertise creates an exciting opportunity for us and our customers."
"Converter/XT enables organizations an efficient way to take existing files intended for print and easily extend their use for publication on the Web," said Andrew Bart, president of PCI. "FutureTense has chosen our technology to be part of their "best-of-breed" solution strategy and we are very excited about this opportunity and our new relationship with one of the premier providers of Web content management and delivery."
