Primavera to Strengthen Cost/Schedule Performance Management through Strategic Development Partnership; Combined Offering will Allow Project and Program Managers to Assess Efficiency of Projects in Progress and Forecast Final Costs

Business Wire, Sept 15, 1999

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 1999--

Primavera Systems, Inc., the leading developer of integrated, scalable, project management software solutions, today announced that it has formalized a strategic development partnership with Integrated Management Concepts (IMC) and C/S Solutions, Inc. (C/SSI) to strengthen cost/schedule performance management for customers in both commercial and government sectors, including the Department of Energy, Federal Aviation Administration, Department of Defense, and other organizations in the aerospace and defense industry.

The combined solution of Primavera Project Planner(R) for the Enterprise (P3e(TM)), IMC's MicroFusion Millennium and C/SSI's wInsight will enable project and program managers to know at every step in the project whether the progress achieved to date is in line with the baseline plan.

As early as the 15 to 20 percent completion point within a project, these managers can determine how efficiently the project is progressing and forecast the final range of costs for the project when it is fully completed.

The union of these applications will allow cost/schedule professionals and project managers to review performance trends, generate statistical estimates at completion and adhere to recognized Cost/Schedule Control Systems Criteria (C/SCSC) or earned value standards for their projects.

Independently, Primavera's P3e offers project managers enterprise-wide project cost, schedule and resource planning and fundamental earned value analysis.

"wInsight and MicroFusion Millennium are vital extensions to P3e's enterprise-wide project database," stated Joel M. Koppelman, president of Primavera. "While P3e delivers the essential project planning and control functions, many of our customers have a need for a historic, auditable, cost/schedule control system that meets federal regulations."

IMC's MicroFusion Millennium functions as an engine that joins the fundamental planning and scheduling of P3e with wInsight's earned value analysis capabilities. It provides complex period-based rate applications, the collection of actual costs and comprehensive earned value for both commercial and government reporting.

Mark Tillema, president of Integrated Management Concepts, commented, "MicroFusion Millennium offers a powerful enterprise-scale solution for complex budget and earned value management scenarios. The relationship between our companies will provide users with a best-of-breed earned value software solution."

C/SSI's wInsight provides sophisticated performance measurement, reporting and analysis, and allows performance information to be shared with disbursed project teams over the Web.

"C/S Solutions focuses on analyzing and presenting performance data so cost/schedule professionals and project managers can make timely business decisions," stated Gary W. Troop, president C/S Solutions, Inc. "Tight integration among wInsight, P3e and MicroFusion Millennium will give customers a powerful enterprise-level solution for measuring project performance."

Added Bruce Hennig, manager of program controls at Parsons, "Parsons Infrastructure & Technology Group Inc. currently uses and has integrated P3 2.0, wInsight, and MicroFusion Millennium into our earned value management system. We have been pleased with the results of this integration and look forward to the enhancements and benefits offered by Primavera Project Planner for the Enterprise, coupled with wInsight and Millennium."
