Peter Chernin Joins Tickets.com's Board of Directors

COSTA MESA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 2, 1999--

Tickets.com Inc. Thursday announced that Peter Chernin has been elected to the company's board of directors, effective immediately.

Chernin is president and chief operating officer of News Corp. and chairman and chief executive officer of the Fox Group, which consists of the North American operations of News Corp. He is also a board member of News Corp. and of the office of the chairman, which has management responsibility for the worldwide operations of News Corp.

Under Chernin's leadership, Twentieth Century Fox Film developed and produced the three top-grossing films of the last five years including "Titanic," "Independence Day" and "Phantom Menace." "Titanic" is the top-grossing movie of all time with worldwide box- office gross of more than $1.8 billion.

In 1998, Fox was the No. 1 studio in worldwide box office with an all-time record $2.69 billion in receipts. Also under Chernin, Fox Broadcasting Co. became the No. 2-ranked network among the key demographic of 18-49 year olds, and Twentieth Century Television, the network production arm of Fox, became the No. 1 supplier of programming to all television networks.

Chernin has had oversight of Fox's tremendous growth in sports, cable and general entertainment television programming and distribution in the United States and overseas. He was also part of the management team during the time when Fox first signed the Dodgers in 1997 and the NFL in 1994.

Since 1992, Chernin also served as chairman and chief executive officer of Fox Filmed Entertainment, where he oversaw all aspects of the studio's worldwide feature film production, marketing and distribution activities as well as worldwide operations for FoxVideo, the studio's home video division.
