SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 20, 1999--
Academic Press (AP), a Harcourt Science and Technology Company, today announced that IDEAL, its pioneering online scientific journal library, signed a linking agreement with two electronic journal-content providers, Dawson Information Quest, Inc., and H.W. Wilson Company.
Information Quest (IQ), an electronic information-delivery tool, developed by Dawson Information Services Group, provides consolidated electronic access to scientific, technical and medical information. WilsonWeb, a product of the H.W. Wilson Company, is a collection of databases containing full-text periodicals, abstracts, indexes and biographical profiles. Both WilsonWeb and Dawson Information Quest now offer links to IDEAL, the Academic Press electronic access library.
"We're very pleased to provide access to the complete Academic Press list," said Jan Peterson, vice president, publisher relations and content development of Dawson Information Services Group. " AP's titles are some of the most important STM titles published, and IQ users have been asking for AP journals for some time." The Academic Press partnerships with Dawson Information Quest and H.W. Wilson Company emphasize the advantages of hypertext linking to accelerate the retrieval of research materials.
The WilsonWeb databases are embedded with bibliographic records that contain abstracts from 21 IDEAL journals and provide links to full-text articles on IDEAL. Users searching databases on WilsonWeb will have seamless access to the most recent articles to which they subscribe on IDEAL.
Information Quest, a sophisticated electronic information delivery tool, is a product of the global Dawson Information Services Group (ISG), which includes The Faxon Company, Dawson UK, Ltd., Dawson France S.A., Faxon Canada, Ltd., Turner Subscriptions, Quality Books Inc., and Dawson Espana, SL.
