Business Wire, Sept 21, 1999
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 21, 1999--
MaxLock.com today announced that it assisted IBM in providing enhancements to IBM's ProBuyer(a) technology included in the recently announced version of the IBM Consumer Wallet.
IBM ProBuyer technology enables Web shoppers to make on-line purchases faster and with greater ease using data stored in the Wallet. MaxLock.com provided guidance with the form-fill function of IBM ProBuyer, simplifying the IBM Consumer Wallet users interaction at ECML enabled merchant sites to a single click.
The ProBuyer technology enables the IBM Consumer Wallet to "understand" ECML purchasing forms presented through many of the most popular Internet browsers This "understanding" permits the Wallet to accurately complete purchasing forms as well as, inform the merchant that it can perform both levels of SET (Secure Electronic Transactiona) enabling the merchant to select the appropriate security for a transaction. With ProBuyer Technology, the IBM Consumer Wallet can be used anywhere on the Web.
"The collaboration of MaxLock.com and IBM enabled the IBM Consumer Wallet to greatly simplify the consumer's Internet shopping experience, while maintaining full control over their privacy and security," said David Chew, director of Internet Payments, IBM Software. "And MaxLock.com made it possible to speed up the Wallet delivery cycle."
IBM ProBuyer technology incorporates concepts developed by MaxLock.com for its WebPasskey program. WebPasskey works seamlessly with most Internet shopping site by analyzing each form and automatically filling in the users shipping and billing information. In addition, it also remembers usernames and passwords to automatically re-logon to any previously visited site.
Pricing, availability and requirements and a free lite version of WebPasskey are available now at http://www.maxlock.com/wp. WebPasskey requires Windows(b) 95, 98 or NT.
