TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 1999--
Program to Deliver Marketing and Networking Benefits to Davinci
Davinci Technologies Inc., a leading provider of electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) products and developer of Internet applications today announced it has joined the Phone.com TM (Nasdaq: PHCM) Alliance Program to accelerate the delivery of customer care and customized information delivered to wireless handsets.
Davinci's approach to developing in-demand wireless applications gives its users access to a broad range of information services like electronic bill presentment and payment, feature description and on-line activation. Easy and rapid access to this information dramatically improves users' experiences, resulting in increased revenue opportunities and competitive differentiation for those organizations adopting Davinci's powerful, cost-effective, products and services.
"Membership in this Alliance continues to enhance our position in the wireless industry," said Steven Rodin, President, Davinci Technologies Inc. "Very early, Phone.com saw the potential in the wireless space, now growing exponentially. By founding the Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) Forum, with the support of players like Motorola, Nokia and Ericsson, Phone.com has demonstrated their leadership. We believe Phone.com's development initiatives will complement our business tremendously."
Davinci has succeeded in delivering mission-critical wireless and web-based applications for leading companies in the telecommunications, health care, financial services, manufacturing and retail sectors. By partnering closely with its customers and understanding their unique requirements and business drivers, Davinci delivers integrated solutions for managing business information, improving customer service and facilitating e-commerce.
"We are happy to have Davinci Technologies Inc. join the Phone.com Alliance Program," said Kathy Simpson, Director, Developer Marketing, Phone.com. "We will provide Davinci, a leading provider of wireless applications and electronic bill payment and presentment solutions with valuable program benefits like product planning, sales and marketing tools, and referrals to Phone.com's partners. We expect the alliance will greatly complement Davinci's business development initiatives."
Phone.com develops, markets and supports infrastructure software and applications that enable the convergence of the Internet and wireless telephony. The Phone.com Alliance Program has two aims: to promote the concept of wireless information access, and to coordinate the exchange of ideas and information between Alliances Program members and companies developing wireless Internet products and services.
Phone.com has also contributed to the development of the Wireless Markup Language (WML), which when used by the company's microbrowser and Up.Link Server Platform, enables the new generation of WAP phones to receive Internet-based services.
