Business Wire, Sept 22, 1999

TIRAT HACARMEL, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 22, 1999--

MIRS-Communications subscribers can NOW access the Internet by

text utilizing EXISTING Internet standards and sites.

PassCall Advanced Technologies (www.passcall.com), a leader in Wireless Internet text and voice applications, announced plans today to cooperate with MIRS (www.mirs.co.il), a subsidiary of Motorola Israel, by providing MIRS with GateWave(TM) technology -- a breakthrough solution providing mobile phone users with real time Internet access utilizing existing Internet standards.

GateWave, which supports all existing telephone standards and Internet sites on a single platform, enables cell phone subscribers to receive instant web content directly to their handset displays. MIRS iDEN i1000 plus is the first Internet ready wireless device to integrate the capabilities of a digital phone, two-way radio and alphanumeric pager. Other subscriber units offered by MIRS are the i700plus and i500plus -- both with full Internet capabilities.

As a result of this cooperation , MIRS (iDEN) subscribers can, for the first time, access in real time, Internet content from existing HTML sites such as CNN. In addition, subscribers will have the option to access real Internet content based on personal preferences and requests. Utilizing text command, the user can access a preferred web site simply indicating a choice using the cell phone handset keys. The GateWave application also enables users to browse and navigate the web and to customize personal preferences. This application has the capability to read web sites on the fly and deliver them directly to cell phones without needing to modify the site or change existing Internet language.

The use of GateWave is consistent with MIRS (iDEN) strategy to implement its services in Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) enabled devices, thereby providing subscribers with added value services.

"WAP technology is progressing, but to date, there is no Internet content written for it," said PassCall CEO Nicky Pappo. "We can offer any provider building a WAP infrastructure the option to deliver high speed Internet content -- right now. GateWave promises to be the Internet gateway of the future for cell phone users. We are pleased to provide this proven solution for MIRS (iDEN) mobile devices."

PassCall is participating at the PCS99 Exhibition in New Orleans, September 22 - 24, 1999. (Booth No. 1221)
