Northstar Electronics Awarded NOAA NETMIND Contract

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 27, 1999--

Northstar Electronics, Inc., (OTC BB:NEIK) is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary, Northstar Technical Inc. has been awarded a contract to supply its NETMIND Underwater Wireless Management System to the U.S. Government agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

The term of the contract is to September 30, 2000. Orders will be placed against this contract to a maximum of US$350,000. An initial order for NETMIND equipment has been issued concurrent with the award.

The NETMIND system will be used on U.S. Government research vessels, government-chartered fishing vessels, and co-operating foreign research vessels.

Northstar's President, Dr. Wilson Russell, says that this is a pivotal event in the company's growth, as it pursues its mission to become a major supplier to the world's marine electronics industry.
