ZEVEX Subsidiary and Dynatronics to Offer Y2K Software Upgrade for the Dynatron 2000 System
Business Wire, Sept 8, 1999
SALT LAKE CITY--(BW HealthWire)--Sept. 8, 1999--
ZEVEX International, Inc. (NASDAQ NM: ZVXI) and Dynatronics Corporation (NASDAQ SC: DYNT) today announced the signing of a joint agreement through which Dynatron 2000 physical evaluation system owners will be offered the fully Y2K-compliant Windows-based Tracker(TM) software and hardware manufactured by JTech Medical Industries, a wholly owned subsidiary of ZEVEX. An estimated 1,400 Dynatron 2000 systems have been sold to physical therapy and chiropractic practices nationwide. JTech sales of upgrade options, which will range in price from $2,495 to $3,995, are expected to begin during the fourth quarter of calendar 1999 and continue for approximately one year.
"This program is exciting for JTech not only because of the sales potential, but also because it is an important step toward industry standardization using our Tracker software," stated JTech President and ZEVEX Director Len Smith. "By installing our software, Dynatron 2000 owners can access numerous other modular components of our product portfolio, such as JTech's American Medical Association-licensed impairment rating software, which will help them to grow their practices."
Kelvyn Cullimore, Jr, president of Dynatronics, commented, "By partnering with JTech Medical Industries, we make available leading-edge Windows-based software for physical evaluation, objective outcomes assessment and report documentation for all owners of Dynatron 2000 systems. We expect this upgrade to significantly extend the useful life of the Dynatron 2000 System. It is a win-win situation that capitalizes on JTech's strength in the physical evaluation market while allowing Dynatronics to focus resources more on its core business strengths in the physical medicine and aesthetic products markets."
Dynatronics plans to begin notifying immediately all Dynatron 2000 customers of the availability of the JTech upgrade. JTech will be exclusively responsible for all sales and customer support functions for the Tracker package and is the exclusive sales agent for a separately available proprietary Dynatronics Y2K "patch" for the Dynatron 2000. Under the terms of the agreement, Dynatronics and JTech will share revenue generated by sales of the software upgrade products.
