NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 11, 2000

The FeedRoom, the first broadband news network on the Internet, is partnering with San Jose, Calif.-based KNTV, a progressive local station in the heart of Silicon Valley, to broadcast that station's wide-ranging video content 24 hours per day to high-speed Internet users.

According to the deal announced today, KNTV, San Jose's leading source of news programming for 40 years, will provide both packaged and unedited news, business, sports, weather and traffic video to The FeedRoom.com, which will then present the content in an arresting rich-media format, combining the best of television and the Internet.

This new partnership between The FeedRoom and Granite Broadcasting Corporation's (NASDAQ: GBTVK) KNTV News Channel 11, will provide San Jose viewers with unique interactive programming opportunities that The FeedRoom's broadband Internet platform enables.

"KNTV understands that broadcast news can finally evolve into a more interactive format that can be personalized for multiple audiences," said Jonathan Klein, president and CEO of The FeedRoom. "For the first time, KNTV will be able to broadcast to viewers who are away from their television, and provide exactly the stories those viewers want and need. The KNTV FeedRoom exemplifies the new standard for both TV broadcasters and Internet news providers."

The FeedRoom, poised to launch nationwide in the second quarter of 2000, capitalizes on the convergence of traditional and new media through the expertise of a top-tier management team, including former executives from CBS, NBC and Primedia. The FeedRoom aggregates the latest news and information from all media, including leading networks, local television and radio stations, cable channels and documentary producers, allowing visitors to choose and select their own, personalized newscast.

"Expanding the reach of our local and regional newscasts continues to be the goal as we work with The FeedRoom to bring TV and Internet news to the next level," said Stuart Beck, president and co-founder of Granite Broadcasting Corp.

Visitors who access The FeedRoom's KNTV Internet broadcast at www.feedroom.com, or through KNTV's Web site, www.kntv.com will be able to search through broadcasts and choreograph personalized news presentations, as well as receive pinpoint weather forecasts for their neighborhoods, hold virtual garage sales, upload resumes and search through video classifieds for Silicon Valley.

"Now, with the click of a button, San Jose residents and others around the world will be able to watch the latest South Bay-area news video, and understand the local impact of national and international events through The FeedRoom," added Daniel Webster, The FeedRoom's West Coast vice president, who is overseeing the KNTV project. "For the first time, viewers can direct their own newscast, selecting the features, sports and other information they are most interested in watching."

As a broadband-only site, The Feedroom offers:
