PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 2000

Informative Graphics Corp., a leading developer of visualization software, has innovated a new Web-based solution for locating and viewing files from multiple network file servers, all from inside a browser served application.

Brava!(TM) Explorer is a Java servlet that extends an HTTP server to deliver directory tree navigation of configured network file servers. A selected file can be viewed, printed, or redlined.

Many organizations use directory naming conventions to publish released documentation on shared access network file servers. Brava! Explorer provides a natural migration to these organizations as they move to intranet and Internet deployments. Brava! Explorer allows administrators to create document repository file servers that can be accessed via a standard Web browser interface.

Specified directories on these file servers can be navigated to locate and select 3D model, drawing and document files. Once selected, these files can be viewed with the included browser served Brava! drawing and image Java viewer, or by any other preinstalled viewer components, such as Adobe Reader, MicroSoft Word Viewer or the Informative Graphics(R) MYRIAD(R) 3D viewer.

Directories are presented in the left pane of the browser page. When the desired file is located, a simple double-click loads the file in the associated viewer in the right side frame. This eliminates the need to copy files to the HTTP server directories and the need to create HTML pages to launch the Java viewer applet.

Before Brava! Explorer it was cumbersome to publish a document with a browser served Java viewer without using a Web content management system. An HTML page was required with the document filename and the applet to use for each file to be accessed.

If there were a significant number of files to be published, if the file name changed (new revision) or the directories in which they reside changed, then this entailed re-editing of each associated HTML file. Brava! Explorer solves this problem.

It can detect when viewable files have been added or removed on the file server repositories dynamically and updates the HTML presentation of the directory listing in the browser. In this way, Brava! Explorer becomes a single focal point for accessing "published" or "released" information as it becomes available on the network file servers' repositories.

"When we introduced Brava! as the first major viewer that was 100 percent Java-based, we knew we were looking at a significant evolution in the world of viewing technology," said Informative Graphics(R) Chief Executive Officer and President Gary Heath. "Now, with the introduction of our Brava! product family, we are maintaining our market lead and ensuring significant enhancements in usability for our customers."
