Samsung's Portable Device Customers Can Purchase and Immediately

Download Music from Online Retailers

Preview Systems' (Nasdaq:PRVW) digital goods commerce solution is being deployed by Samsung Electronics America Inc. (SEA) to enable online purchases of digital music downloads through a PC to the Yepp(TM) line of portable music players. With Preview's solution, Samsung can offer portable music devices that give music fans more immediate access to the digital music they want, whenever and wherever they want it.

Consumers will be able to purchase secure music downloads online and easily transfer them from a PC to the Yepp digital music player. Samsung expects that future generations of its portable music players will allow consumers to download music securely from the Internet directly to the device.

With its deployment of Preview's technology, Samsung also joins Preview's network of record labels, distributors, service providers and online retailers, and it can leverage these relationships to provide fully licensed content for the Yepp devices. Samsung's portable device customers will have access to a growing inventory of digital music content so they can keep the music on their players new and current.

"By integrating Preview's digital goods commerce technology into our Yepp portable music devices we are giving consumers greater flexibility to purchase and play digital music wherever they are, not wherever their PC is," said Dr. Hee Min Kwon, senior vice president and general manager of Samsung. "Preview's technology lets us satisfy music fans who want to easily download digital music while helping to meet the demands of the recording industry, which wants digital music to be secure. Most importantly, it creates a seamless download and purchase experience for our customers so they can spend more time enjoying their music, not figuring out how to get it."

"As part of our network of record labels, service providers, distributors, resellers and hardware manufacturers, Samsung can now offer its customers access to a growing library of digital music content that is available for immediate download," added Vincent Pluvinage, CEO of Preview Systems. "Samsung's deployment is evidence of the flexibility and scalability of our digital goods commerce solution and how it is being used to accommodate music consumers' demands for immediate fulfillment of digital downloads."

Samsung's deployment of Preview Systems' solution extends Preview's network to include consumer playback device manufacturers, further completing the process for delivering digital goods from publishers to consumers. Preview's network also consists of companies such as EMI Recorded Music, Navarre, Supertracks, Reciprocal, Ingram Micro, Musicland, Corel, Symantec, Macromedia and others.
