Speed in Implementing Dell Infrastructure at NaviSite Hosting
Facility Brings New Optika B2B Application To Market
Dell (Nasdaq:DELL), a world leader in Internet commerce and infrastructure, today announced that it has been selected as the exclusive server provider for the infrastructure of a new business-to-business (B2B) application family developed by Optika (Nasdaq:OPTK) and hosted by NaviSite (Nasdaq:NAVI).
Optika's Acorde(tm) is designed to resolve discrepancies in business transactions, and links customers' back-end systems to review, discuss and resolve issues between trading partners. Acorde provides efficiency in mediation and allows resolution of B2B transaction issues online when such activities as orders, deliveries or invoices show discrepancies. NaviSite, a leading application service provider (ASP), will host this comprehensive, Web-based application exclusively on Dell PowerEdge(tm) servers.
"As the capabilities of B2B e-commerce grow more robust, Dell's new Service Provider Direct program will continue to offer ASPs and Web hosters the service and support they need to maintain the reliability and uptime of their Internet infrastructure," said Judi L. Webster, vice president and general manager of Dell's Internet Partner Division. "Dell's ability to deliver PowerEdge servers with OnSite Capacity provides NaviSite the speed, flexibility and availability to meet the complex needs of its customers, such as Optika."
"Dell and NaviSite are teaming with Optika to deliver our new B2B Web resolution products via the ASP model and provide our customers with unparalleled service levels, system uptime and reliability," said Mark K. Ruport, president, CEO and chairman of Optika. "For the first time, businesses will be able to quickly engage their trading partners online to resolve issues without investing in expensive infrastructure and information technology."
"NaviSite's participation in the launch of Optika's Acorde product family in the new B2B Web resolution market will provide effective, high-performance ASP delivery of these innovative B2B solutions," said Jay Seaton, vice president of marketing for NaviSite. "Through NaviSite's fully-managed infrastructure and Dell PowerEdge servers, Optika will be able to offer scalable solutions to meet the requirements of large enterprises, as well as the needs of resource-constricted, small and middle-sized companies, at a lower total cost of ownership."
