NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24, 2000
e-SIM (NASDAQ:ESIM), the leader in advanced simulation technology for e-commerce, customer support and product development, announced today that its LiveProducts Division has signed an agreement with Zenith Electronics Corporation to produce online simulations to help consumers program and use the new lineup of higher-end Zenith universal remote controls.
LiveProducts leverages e-SIM's proprietary technology to produce the only fully functional, truly interactive and accurate simulations available on the Web, complete with animated feature demonstrations with streaming voiceover and online user manuals. LiveProducts look, sound and behave just like the real thing and will revolutionize the way consumers evaluate, purchase, and learn about all their favorite products on the Internet. With an average file size of 150K, LiveProducts load fast, even on the slowest modem.
Under the terms of the agreement with Zenith, e-SIM has been commissioned to create LiveProducts simulations of Zenith's lineup of higher-end universal remote controls. Zenith plans to feature the simulations on its Web site to help improve customer service and drive consumer purchase consideration with a unique try-before-you-buy experience. The simulations will also be available at LiveProducts.com. In addition, e-SIM plans to store Zenith's massive remote control programming code libraries and provide a secure area on the soon to be released support site for consumers to access their codes for fast, easy reference when reprogramming is necessary.
"Zenith is the inventor of the TV remote control and a recognized innovator in the consumer electronics field. That position is sure to be enhanced as they become the first accessories manufacturer to adopt e-SIM's revolutionary simulation technology." said Bill Sims, president and CEO of e-SIM's LiveProducts division.
Len Coakley, Zenith vice president of accessories, said, "A primary goal at Zenith is to make our technology easy to use. LiveProducts online simulations are intended to help consumers easily program and use their remote controls. And with more than 600 programming codes for our higher-end remotes, the simulations serve as an important customer satisfaction tool."
