SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 2000

TurboLinux(R), Inc., the high performance Linux company, announced today that retail unit sales of TurboLinux products in the United States grew 200 percent from January to March, 10 times faster than the overall market, according to PC Data, the leading retail market research firm.

Measured by unit sell-through in retail stores, the latest PC Data survey information shows that TurboLinux March sales tripled over January figures, compared to an overall market growth rate for the same period of 20 percent.

TurboLinux, which only entered distribution channels in North America at the end of 1999, jumped to the number three retail sales position in March narrowly ahead of several established Linux vendors who have been selling in the U.S. market for years.

We are pleased that customers in America are discovering TurboLinux products, said George Sun, vice president of sales, TurboLinux. We have been very successful in Asia and we hope our entrance into the U.S. market will help spur overall growth and innovation for Linux to give customers even more value for their money.
