MIAMI--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 2000
Default Proof Credit Card System, Inc. (OTCBB:DPRS) announced that, on April 24, 2000, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office ("PTO") served the Company with Notice of Allowance for Issuance of a U.S. Patent for its Automated Teller Machine (ATM) Debit Cards Dispenser application.
The PTO has issued notice of allowance that all eight of the claims in the patent application have been allowed as patented. At a time when leading financial services companies such as American Express, E-Trade, and many others are aggressively positioning themselves within the ATM industry, the scope of the allowance presents a wide range of valuable worldwide business opportunities to Default Proof Credit Card System, Inc. In addition, the new generation of Web enabled ATMs are capable of accessing the Company's Web Site UBUYDEBITCARDS.COM (patent pending).
Due to the global applications in the patent, the Company plans to file for international protection under the worldwide Patent Cooperation Treaty.
Unlike currently available debit cards, the Company's ATM Dispensed Debit Card does not require a link to a checking or saving account at a financial institution. There are in excess of 50 million people in the United States who do not have a bank account. Annual Debit Card related purchases, in the United States alone, are in excess of $250 Billion.
