SEATTLE--(ENTERTAINMENT WIRE)--April 4, 2000

Saturday, April 29, Paramount Theatre, 8 p.m. $39.50, $29.50,

$19.50 including theatre facility charge.

The public is invited to compete with Northwest media celebrities in a live version of Comedy Central's(R) number one hit show Win Ben Stein's Money as a part of the second annual six-day Foolproof Northwest Comedy Arts Festival.

KVI Radio's (570 AM) Kirby Wilbur, and long-time host of television's Almost Live John Keister will compete for Northwest Harvest. The Seattle Post-Intelligencer's Pulitzer prize-winning cartoonist Dave Horsey and some lucky contestant compete for FareStart, and Super Jen from STAR 105.5 FM plays for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Moderator is KOMO AM 1000 Radio's morning show host Pat Cashman.

To apply to become a contestant for FareStart with Horsey, visit komoradio.com and for Starlight Children's Foundation with Super Jen, it's star1015.com.

Host is Ben Stein whose education and life experiences make him a formidable, yet amusing, opponent. Stein has been a hippie, an honors economics graduate from Columbia University, a lawyer, graduating from Yale Law School where he was valedictorian, author of 15 books, a magazine writer and columnist, Pepperdine law professor, speech writer for President Nixon (he did not write "I am not a crook.") film actor (Ferris Bueller's Day Off), television actor (The Wonder Years), and now quiz show host.

It seems that the only thing Stein hasn't done is run for office. When asked if he would ever run for President, he answers characteristically with his famous deadpan facial expression and voice, "A. I don't want the job. B. I have too many skeletons in my closet with women. C. I want to spend the time I'm not making money with my son and I wouldn't be that good at it. I'm not an executive."

Contributions of non-perishable food to Northwest Harvest will be accepted at the door.

Foolproof is a non-profit organization sponsored by AT&T Cable Services, Comedy Central(R), Seattle Post-Intelligencer, KOMO News Talk 1000, STAR 101.5, Seattle Theatre Group, KOMO TV 4, KPLU 88.5, IKEA, Target, Comedy Rx, Camlin Hotel, Adhost Internet Advertising, Ambassador Limousines, Downtown Seattle Association, Kinko's, Seattle Center Productions, Thrifty Car Rental.
