Catapult Systems Unveils Inquisite 3.0 Survey System at Spring Internet World 2000; Enhanced Features Increase Depth, Extend Global Reach of Survey System

Business Wire, April 5, 2000

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 5, 2000

Catapult Systems Corp., a premiere provider of e-business products and services, introduced the latest version of its popular electronic and Web-based survey system, Inquisite, at Spring Internet World in Los Angeles today. Inquisite 3.0's enhanced features will add greater depth to the survey process, continuing to help companies gather the strategic intelligence necessary for making effective business decisions.

Inquisite 3.0 makes asking questions and finding answers as easy as point and click, whether you are administering surveys via the Internet, intranet, network, email, diskette, or scannable paper forms. The upgraded survey system includes the option of administering surveys via Scantron Optical Mark Reader paper (OMR), which allows users to reach respondents who do not have access to email or the Internet, support for multi-byte, character-based language surveys in languages such as Chinese and Japanese, and improved response validation for NT Web servers.

"We're extending Inquisite's reach even farther by offering support for different languages and scannable paper-based surveys that can reach people on the shop floor and other remote locations via postal mail," said Sam T. Goodner, Catapult's CEO and founder. "The ability to reach anyone anywhere makes Inquisite 3.0 a truly universal survey system."

Inquisite's enhanced feature set also includes the ability to save and resume Web surveys, a special report "binder" that can be saved to rerun reports on demand, and the option to run reports including or excluding unanswered responses. Other new features include support for .PDF file format, the ability to open and save graphical charts in HTML, printable search criteria, and the ability for users to create, customize, and integrate reports into Inquisite using any COM-supported development language (such as Delphi or Visual Basic).

Inquisite allows high-end survey creation without high-end costs. Users can easily customize the look and feel of each survey by adding logos, custom backgrounds, images, or HTML templates. Whether survey results are hosted on users' individual Web sites or intranets, Inquisite allows customers to integrate their surveys and protect responses within unique corporate environments and behind firewalls. Inquisite also features respondent authentication, ensuring surveys can only be taken by desired respondents and precluding them from taking a survey more than once.

With its easy-to-use interface and powerful response collection and analysis mechanism, Inquisite 3.0 brings complete control and flexibility to the survey process. Inquisite provides powerful, customizable, relevant reports that allow users to drill down in specific areas of interest, to export reports and data to popular file formats such as Microsoft(R) Excel, Microsoft(R) Word, or HTML, and to use other third-party statistics packages (such as SPSS(R)) to further analyze survey data.

Catapult introduced the Inquisite software line in 1997 and launched InquisiteOnline, the ASP version of the survey system, in January 2000. Stop by booth #6070 at Spring Internet World through Friday, April 7 for a product demonstration or a download a demo today at www.inquisite.com.
