Fall Temperatures Skyrocket as 98 Degrees and Hoku Team Up for New Disney Channel in Concert Special

Sizzling pop superstars 98 Degrees and rising singing sensation Hoku will be featured in DISNEY CHANNEL's latest music special, 98 Degrees & Hoku In Concert.

The special will premiere on DISNEY CHANNEL in October 2000 and tapes in August 2000 in Cincinnati. 98 Degrees & Hoku In Concert will allow fans to catch a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the lives of these hot young recording artists in this exclusive nationally televised concert special.

"This time, DISNEY CHANNEL teams with 98 Degrees and Hoku, some of the most talented recording artists in the business. Both groups will be featured in their hometowns, Cincinnati and Honolulu, respectively, then Hoku will join 98 Degrees for a big homecoming concert in Cincinnati," said Tina Treadwell, vice president of talent and alternative programming. DISNEY CHANNEL has built a reputation for highlighting today's most prolific artists with its In Concert music specials featuring Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, BBMak, LeAnn Rimes, B-Witched, Five, 'N Sync, Joey McIntyre, Youngstown and a special Holidays In Concert featuring Shawn Colvin, Tatyana Ali and 'N Sync.

Most recently, DISNEY CHANNEL teamed Jessica Simpson and Jason Raize for Jessica Simpson & Jason Raize In Concert which premiered Saturday, June 24 on DISNEY CHANNEL.

Universal recording artist 98 Degrees -- Nick Lachey, Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and Justin Jeffre -- is one of the hottest groups in music today and will release their new album, Revelation, on Sept. 26.

Revelation, the group's fourth album, is the much-anticipated follow up to their multi-platinum selling release, 98 Degrees and Rising, which has sold more than five million albums to date and has garnered three Top 10 hit singles "Because of You," "The Hardest Thing" and "I Do (Cherish You)."

The new album Revelation does well to not only showcase the group's talent as individuals, but marks their collective evolution as one of the industry's premier talent-rich bands.

For 98 Degrees and Hoku In Concert, the group will perform songs from their new album including their new single, "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)," a sizzling, Latin-laced up-tempo, which has begun igniting radio stations all across the country.

Hoku recently achieved the rare honor of a debut gold single for her Top 5 charting single "Another Dumb Blonde" from the Snow Day soundtrack album, and when the accompanying video aired for the first time on MTV's TRL (Total Request Live), it hit the Top 10. In May 2000, she released her self-titled debut album, Hoku (Geffen Records).

The album features diverse tracks including the feel-good songs "What You Need," "How Do I Feel" (aka The Burrito Song) and "Oxygen," the emotional ballad "Nothing In This World" and the powerful "You First Believed," which she also wrote.

While Hoku follows in the tradition of young female singers with uncompromising girl-power attitudes wrapped in upbeat dance pop, she also follows in a famous family tradition: she is the seventh of 10 children, and the only one to follow her legendary father, Don Ho, into show business. 98 Degrees & Hoku In Concert will be produced by Automatic Productions in association with DISNEY CHANNEL.
