WAYNE, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 14, 2000
JVC PROFESSIONAL PRODUCTS COMPANY is hosting a ongoing series of Creative Digital Forums with industry insiders, to glean ideas for advanced technologies suitable for the emerging digital domain, and especially for discussion and planning of JVC's exciting new hard-drive video technology.
Launched in June, JVC's ongoing Creative Digital Forum series has been wildly popular among traditional broadcast and video professionals as well as streaming video content providers and independent film producers. Eight half-day sessions held recently in San Francisco and Burbank, California; Dallas, Texas; and Des Plaines, Illinois have drawn hundreds of participants. Two new Creative Digital Forums are slated to take place on August 22, 2000 in Orlando, Florida and September 7, 2000 in New York. Admission is FREE, but space is limited. Interested parties should call 1-888-748-5122 to reserve a space as soon as possible.
Details of Seminar
At JVC's Creative Digital Forums, participants gain valuable insight into how to expand their creative horizons and see first-hand how innovative digital cameras are being used for ways of distribution - particularly electronic cinematography and streaming video. Participants will view DV-High Definition digital video upconverted from original 50Mbps standard definition program material, and have a hands-on look at JVC's prototype hard-drive camcorder which is designed with video-to-film transfer and Internet streaming in mind. JVC product development specialists are on hand to collect qualitative information for use in shaping new products for the industry.
Attendees have raved about the rare opportunity to share anecdotal and technical information with JVC engineers and to help shape features of the JVC's new "tapeless" products. But, apart from the nuts and bolts of engineering, one of the most compelling reasons to attend, say video professionals from around the country, is the chance to be exposed to new waves of creative thinking and to have more fun in the process of producing digital video.
Juan Martinez, JVC's Product Manager for VTRs and Cameras reported, "Video professionals around the nation are seizing this opportunity to be in on the ground floor of the industry's new wave of creative and technical development. With the recent debut of new kinds of technology - especially JVC's new "tapeless" hard drive cameras - the creative door has swung wide open. For the first time ever, shooters from all walks of life and every industry imaginable can take immediate advantage of the real power of digital video. We're just scratching the surface of new methods of distribution - especially streaming video and electronic cinematography. In the case of JVC's "tapeless" technology, the "tool" actually drives creativity and lets videographers think and work out of the box. The point of JVC's Creative Digital Forums is to help stir this explosion of creativity."
At stake, for JVC and other leading professional video manufacturers, is a competitive share in the newly emerging "electronic cinematography" and "streaming video" markets. By offering high-quality, affordable video equipment with the capability to scale up to broadband quality, JVC has provided a unique and economical path to mass electronic distribution of video content.
