Proven Compatibility Lays a Solid Foundation for Open

Communication Servers

Intel Corporation and its Dialogic(R) subsidiary today announced that Dialogic CT Media(TM) server software has been validated as IBM Netfinity ServerProven. By demonstrating solid compatibility between CT Media version 1.2 and Netfinity, Intel Dialogic and IBM are furthering their mutual vision of open, scalable, and easy-to-manage communications servers that can run applications from numerous vendors. The two companies are also taking a step towards their mutual goal of providing best-in-class open platforms for converged communications solutions developers.

Dialogic CT Media server software is the first open software platform for designing standards-based telecommunications servers that support messaging, interactive voice response (IVR), fax, automatic call distribution, and other applications from different vendors. The CT Media platform makes application development and integration easier by enabling applications from different suppliers to interoperate on a common server. System owners can easily add new technologies to the server without needing to change their existing applications.

Netfinity servers are an ideal hardware platform for CT Media server software solutions, built with advanced technologies such as Light Path diagnostics and Chipkill memory adopted from IBM's big iron heritage. The Netfinity X-Architecture provides a blueprint for migrating these mainframe attributes to industry-standard servers. Since 1998, Netfinity servers have set more than 42 performance records, including seven No. 1 benchmarks.

Netfinity ServerProven validation assures solution developer customers that CT Media --and their CT Media-based applications-- can run on these Intel-based servers with no installation or performance issues. The first communications server software of its class validated to run on Netfinity servers, CT Media server software version 1.2 was tested and proven to be compatible with the Netfinity 3000, 3500, 5600 and 7000 models.

Open Communication Server Solutions

"As the demand for standards-based systems continues to grow, telecom solution providers are relying on tools that let them build scalable solutions, like CT Media server software and the IBM Netfinity servers. By using these tools together, it's even easier to develop and deploy CT Media-based applications," explained Avi Greengart, product marketing manager for the CT Media platform at Dialogic. "Plus, validating CT Media server software as Netfinity ServerProven reinforces the Dialogic commitment to providing the tools and direction for deploying open communication server solutions."

"IBM Netfinity servers help our customers confidently build reliable foundations for their networked business systems," said Sandy Carter, IBM's director of PartnerWorld for Developers, Netfinity Servers. "Netfinity servers are designed to give the right combination of power and performance as our customers' business needs grow. Whether they're running a few clients or thousands, Netfinity customers are able to spend more time managing their own businesses and less time managing IT assets. Plus, with IBM's unrivaled service and support, Netfinity solutions can help keep their systems up and running around the clock."
