SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 15, 2000

HNC Financial Solutions, a division of HNC Software Inc. (Nasdaq: HNCS), today announced that Security First Network Bank (SFNB), rated the best overall Internet bank by Gomez Advisors, has gone live with HNC's Capstone(TM) Express to automate its online credit application decisioning. Available through a hosted application service provider (ASP) environment, Capstone Express is a real-time, flexible credit decisioning service ideally suited to automate credit card, consumer loan, auto loan, line of credit, business lending, or mortgage application decisions.

"We looked at numerous automated decisioning solutions on the market and Capstone Express was clearly head-and-shoulders above the others," said Pat Reily, vice president of marketing for SFNB. "With Capstone Express, we're able to use a single system to oversee all our application decisions."

"Because it's delivered through an ASP, Capstone Express has, in just a few short weeks, been easily integrated into SFNB's operational system, saving them the time and costs of an on-site installation," said Michelle Macartney, group vice president of Global Solutions Delivery for HNC Financial Solutions. "We're thrilled that an innovative leader in online banking such as SFNB has chosen Capstone Express. Their selection validates the progressive abilities of Capstone Express in the Internet banking realm."

Capstone Express is available with three solutions packages that allow for increased levels of functionality and customization of the decision logic according to a user's own criteria and policies. The service supports on-demand, on-line access to each client's own data repositories and to U.S. and Canadian consumer credit bureaus and U.S. business credit agencies to assess credit risk and, optionally, application fraud risk using Fraud Check and Equifax Gemini Verify Score(SM). Capstone Express can also interface with a wide variety of delivery channels that a lender may choose to interact with its customers, such as via the Web, interactive voice response, direct line, or Palm(TM) PDA devices.
