Adaptec's Ethernet Technology Chosen for Fujitsu Siemens Computers Server Line; Leading European IT Company Chooses Reliable, Scalable Ethernet Connectivity from Adaptec

Adaptec, Inc. (Nasdaq:ADPT), the global leader in innovative storage solutions, today announced that Fujitsu Siemens Computers, Germany, will be including Adaptec ANA-62022 network interface cards (NICs) within its PRIMERGY Server family, a full line of Intel-based servers ranging from workgroup to data center servers.
"Adaptec ANA-62022 cards are designed specifically to optimize server performance in networks that are near capacity or taxed beyond their bandwidth," stated Lee Caswell, vice president of Adaptec's OEM Solutions Group.

"We have chosen Adaptec's new 64-bit and Windows 2000 compliant network interface adapter, because it offers outstanding fault tolerance with two channels on one controller, which is an unique feature in the market today."
Fujitsu Siemens Computers will integrate Adaptec's ANA-62022 NICs into the PRIMERGY Server product line. This means a full line of highly innovative servers stretching from entry-level single-processor workgroup servers to 8-way enterprise server systems, including clustering and server farming solutions, computing nodes and storage system building blocks for data center environments. With their advanced system availability, outstanding expandability and excellent performance, PRIMERGY servers also offer many additional advantages that make these servers to an ideal platform for a large range of use.
The ANA-62022 is a two-port, 64-bit PCI NIC that also works in a 32-bit PCI slot. Combined with Duralink Software, the ANA-62022 is a DuraLAN NIC developed to increase uptime, enhance functionality and escalate performance for bandwidth-stressed corporate networks. Adaptec DuraLAN NICs comply with PCI 2.1 specifications and support Windows 95 and NT and NetWare.
