SHELTON, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 15, 2000
USA Video Productions, a subsidiary of USA Video Interactive Corp. (US NBQ: USVO; CDNX: US; www.usvo.com), recently produced and webcast an employee meeting for Pitney Bowes Financial Services from their Shelton headquarters to employees located across the United States and Canada.
"We are proud to demonstrate our technology and ability through the production and Internet webcast of this meeting for Pitney Bowes Financial Services," said Edwin Molina, president and CEO of USA Video Interactive. "Leading-edge operations like Pitney Bowes Financial Services demand flawless communications. We were very pleased to do this successfully, as it is a significant step in our corporate communications efforts."
The meeting was webcast July 20 to Pitney Bowes Financial Services employees in the U.S. and Canada through a private web page created by USA Video Interactive. Users could choose between two bandwidth feeds, depending on the speed of their Internet access, and the videos were accessible on employee desktops via password link to a secured video web page. "For the first time, our leadership team was able to communicate directly with all employees at the same time, regardless of where they happened to be physically located," said Karen Crane, Manager, Corporate Communications for Pitney Bowes Financial Services. "It was very exciting and very well received by our employees."
USA Video Productions' webcast procedure used at Pitney Bowes Financial Services is a model for producing future webcasts in the corporate market - an important focus for USA Video Interactive.
"We are serving the corporate world through a variety of means," Molina said. "Internal employee communications is greatly enhanced by our production and webcast abilities. In addition, we provide other business applications for streaming media, such as hosting and producing creative content and live webcasts as we are doing with Innosight."
USA Video Interactive recently was selected as the exclusive streaming video and webcaster by Innosight, LLC, the online innovation problem-solving resource based on theories developed by Harvard Business School professor Clayton Christensen. Christensen is the author of the best-selling "The Innovator's Dilemma," which describes his revolutionary theories of disruptive technologies.
In addition to providing Innosight with web-based streaming video, USA Video Interactive will enable the streaming of Christensen's "Disruptive Innovation Primer," the hallmark speech explaining the dynamics of technological disruption, and will host and/or produce creative content and live webcasts and will collaborate on Innosight's future needs and desired capabilities. USA Video Interactive will license use of its patents to Innosight as part of this contract.
