MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 16, 2000
Informix(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:IFMX), the technology leader in software infrastructure for the i.Economy, today announced a strategic alliance with the Numerical Algorithms Group (NAG), the world leader in mathematical and statistical software by releasing the Informix NAG Financial Datablade(R) module.
The product has been tailored to address the needs of the financial services industry where reliable, accurate analysis tools are critical for sustained profitability.
"Companies can save time and money by using quality NAG functions instead of developing their own analytics," said Dr. Brian Ford OBE, managing director of NAG. "When dealing with large amounts of data, this process can be speeded up greatly by taking the analytics to the data, which is precisely what the Informix NAG Financial Datablade does. With Informix Internet Foundation.2000's(TM) exceptional technology for handling time-series data, our clients get the benefit of high performance solutions."
"Informix continues to work with industry-leading companies to bring relevant solutions to market. This alliance represents a major step forward for companies concerned with effective data capture and analysis. There is no other product out there today that can provide the level of flexibility and functionality that we are offering," commented Steve Weick, senior vice president and group executive, Informix. "The Foundation.2000 NAG solution resolves some of the most complex problems encountered by those doing in-depth data analysis."
The new Datablade module will include 50 of NAG's vector and matrix mathematical functions required for the accurate analysis of high volumes of data. This Datablade module can also be used with the Informix Time Series Datablade module to facilitate the building of more complex integrated statistical systems. Informix Internet Foundation.2000 scales to track any amount of information, with the speed, accuracy and reliability of the NAG software.
