SanDisk's MultiMediaCards Will be Sold With New Compaq Personal Audio Player; SanDisk Flash Memory Cards To Provide Up To Two Hours Of Digital Playback

SanDisk Corporation (Nasdaq:SNDK) announced today that it will supply Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE:CPQ) with its stamp-size MultiMediaCard for storage of compressed music files in Compaq's iPAQ Personal Audio Player PA-1. Beginning in September, two SanDisk 32-megabyte (MB) solid state MultiMediaCards will be provided with each PA-1.
The PA-1, introduced on August 15, is a hand-held device that enables users to rapidly download digital music files from the Internet through a USB interface to a PC, and plays back crystal clear digital audio sound, according to Compaq. The iPAQ PA-1 stores up to two hours of digital-quality music on the two 32MB cards and is compatible with multiple music formats, including MP3, AAC and Microsoft WMA.
