NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 2, 2000
InVerge, Inc. announced today that businesses using Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 will have pre-integrated access to a universal interface to leading providers of payment, tax, data quality and risk management services.
These services are essential to the completion of an online order. The integration of the InVerge Service Adaptor(TM) is an example of how businesses will benefit from technologies developed using the Microsoft .NET Platform.
On Aug. 1, InVerge launched a new way to deliver services to businesses over the Internet during the eTail2000 conference in New York City: The InVerge transaction services platform. The platform is an example of how businesses can reduce operating expenses and increase the speed at which new services are available on their Web sites. The InVerge Service Adaptor connects online businesses to the InVerge transaction services platform through a standard message format. Businesses can access leading providers of services such as credit card authorization or tax calculation, by transaction, when needed. No longer do businesses need to integrate and maintain multiple technologies to have a fully transactional Web site.
Microsoft Commerce Server 2000, a component of the .NET Enterprise Servers, provides the critical eCommerce infrastructure needed to build an effective online business. User profiling and management, product and service management, transaction processing, and targeted marketing and merchandising are all integrated to create a comprehensive system that is customizable for a business' specific needs.
The InVerge Service Adaptor provides all the necessary plug-ins to Commerce Server's Order Processing Pipeline, a framework for accessing vital eCommerce services, and gives businesses a quick and easy jump-start to developing their commercial Web sites. Customers can use the fully integrated InVerge Business Desk module to seamlessly select which services they want and sign up for them using Commerce Server's management center.
"Delivering Microsoft's Commerce Server 2000 and the InVerge Service Adaptor together is a natural fit that will result in significant time and cost savings for online businesses," says Michael Anderson, president of InVerge. "We envision a breadth of services that can be accessed by transaction without requiring a business to undertake additional development. The ease with which businesses can add services to their sites is an advantage of the Microsoft .NET Platform."
The Microsoft .NET Platform is built on open Internet protocols and standards, with tools and services that meld computing and communications together. Utilizing the .NET Platform will allow InVerge customers to greater personalize Web services and control how, when, and where information is delivered to consumers.
"Microsoft Commerce Server 2000 and .NET Platform is designed to facilitate and improve the overall online experiences for businesses and consumers," said Rebekkah Kumar, lead product manager at Microsoft Corp. "We're delighted to enhance this experience with a powerful tool like the InVerge Service Adaptor, which we expect will greatly improve the success of building and maintaining online business infrastructure."
