Mellon Ventures Leads Second Round
Ockham Technologies, the Atlanta-based pioneer in sales management automation (SMA) software and the creator of the SalesRazor Series, announced today a second round $10 million venture capital investment led by Mellon Ventures, a subsidiary of the Pittsburgh, PA-based Mellon Financial Corporation. First-round investors Noro-Moseley Partners and Monarch Capital Partners, and newcomer Imlay Investments, also participated.
Ockham Technologies plans to use the funding to strengthen sales and marketing efforts and continue development of additional modules in its SalesRazor Series. Accessible through Ockham's destination Website salesmanagement.com, the SalesRazor Series is a set of Web-native tools designed to help sales managers increase sales productivity through best practice processes. Ockham currently has three of the five applications in the SalesRazor Series deployed and plans to launch a fourth application during the fourth quarter 2000.
"At a time when VC investments are being vigorously scrutinized, we're extremely pleased to close a round of this magnitude with such prominent investors," said Jim Triandiflou, president and CEO of Ockham Technologies. "This is another milestone to add to our list of accomplishments over the last fifteen months. The funding will provide us with the fuel we need to continue our success and forge ahead as the leaders in sales management automation."
John Adams, partner with Mellon Ventures and newly appointed Ockham Board Member, attributes Ockham's success to several key factors. "Ockham has built itself on sound business fundamentals: a profitable business model, a strong management team and marquee customers like IBM and Intel. We're excited to provide the momentum behind a company that understands these characteristics are critical for long-term growth and stability."
