CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 22, 2000
Online Software Provider's Innovative System Ensures Secure
Transaction Processing
LinkPoint International Inc., a premier provider of traditional and Internet payment processing applications, today announced that its state-of-the-art, scalable online transaction processing system, the LinkPoint Secure Payment Gateway, now serves more than 31,000 Internet merchants -- a total of 31,494 Web-based businesses.
Originally focused on providing traditional point-of-sale (POS) equipment to the small- to mid-sized merchant market, LinkPoint International has seen its greatest expansion through the success of the LinkPoint Secure Payment Gateway.
The innovative payment system enables merchants and consumers to benefit from the ease and convenience of online purchasing, while providing the privacy, security and protection they demand.
"LinkPoint International understands the unique needs of online merchants and shoppers who are excited about the tremendous opportunity and convenience of e-commerce, but apprehensive about online security," said Caesar Berger, president of LinkPoint International.
"The LinkPoint Secure Payment Gateway ensures the highest level of security available so merchants can concentrate on maximizing their online business potential and consumers can make online purchases with greater peace of mind."
The LinkPoint Secure Payment Gateway is composed of three credit card payment solutions -- Virtual LinkPoint, LinkPoint Basic and LinkPoint Select API. All LinkPoint Secure Payment Gateway options provide a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) environment in which merchants can process their payment transactions and accomplish real-time reporting via their Web browsers.
In addition, LinkPoint International's most recent software upgrade, LinkPoint 5.2, incorporates periodic billing into the Select API and VirtualCheck options.
Virtual LinkPoint puts credit card transaction data entry under the merchant's control, enabling business to be conducted from a PC through a secure connection to the Internet. LinkPoint Basic takes this a step further by wrapping around a merchant's Web site, enabling online shoppers to select, order and pay for products using their credit cards.
The fully customizable LinkPoint Select API integrates with a merchant's Web site to offer additional services such as tax and shipping calculations and electronic software download.
In addition, LinkPoint International offers an electronic check payment option, the LinkPoint VirtualCheck.
