NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 22, 2000
The Sonar Network, the premier mass-reach value-oriented ad network and a division of DoubleClick Inc. (Nasdaq:DCLK), today announced an alliance with Nexchange Corporation, the creator of Syndicated E-commerce, to launch Sonar's Commerce Vertical and co-market Nexchange to its network of websites.
With this agreement, Sonar's new Commerce Vertical will be powered by Nexchange's network of thousands of websites and Nexchange will provide participating Sonar Network sites with a complete e-commerce solution that integrates retailers' stores into the sites' content. Sonar will also sell advertising inventory on the commerce section of all participating sites that become Nexchange clients.
"Sonar has quickly built a great network of niche sites, and we are thrilled that they've selected Nexchange as their commerce solution," said David Slovin, Vice President of Host Sales and Satisfaction for Nexchange. "By utilizing Nexchange's solution, websites can enrich their content with e-commerce, extend the time their visitors stay on-site, and earn a commission on every sale."
This partnership allows Sonar sites to work with Nexchange to create a contextually relevant shopping environment on their site that increases customer retention and provides advertisers with the ability to target consumers that are in the market for products and services. Using Nexchange's patent-pending technology, website owners open stores on their site and sell products relevant to their content from trusted retailers like Wolf Camera, Hastings Entertainment, Ashford.com, eBags, and Proflowers.com.
"The Commerce Vertical will provide advertisers with a powerful channel for targeting their messages over inventory containing specific product offerings categorized by merchants," said Andy Jacobson, Vice President and General Manager of Sonar Network. "Through this partnership we are providing advertisers with a unique opportunity to communicate with consumers shopping for everything from books to luggage to health & beauty products."
With the addition of the Commerce Vertical, the Sonar Network now has 35 highly focused vertical content categories, which include: Consumer Technology, IS/IT Professionals, Web Developers, Small Business/SOHO, and Medical Professionals.
