BizRate.com surveyed more than 16,000 online buyers to see how the Internet has affected their music-buying habits; following is what the company discovered:

of online buyers said that free music downloads either did not

affect or increased their CD purchases. In contrast, only 3%

of online buyers said that free music downloads has decreased

their purchase of CDs.

Internet? More than one-third of online buyers reported

downloading free music from the Internet.

-- Who's downloading free music? More men than women download

free music from the Internet -- 43% of men compared to 26% of

women.
