Network Appliance Extends Reach of Content Delivery Networks as Key Contributor to Newly-Formed Content Alliance

Network Appliance, Inc. (Nasdaq:NTAP), the leading provider of network-attached data access and content management solutions, today joined the Content Alliance as a principal member. Other members in the Content Alliance include Cable & Wireless, Cisco, Digital Broadband, Digital Island, Exodus, Genuity, Mirror Image, NaviSite, PSINet, ServInt, and Storage Networks. The Content Alliance is designed to enable the seamless sharing of content from participating service providers and content delivery networks (CDNs) around the world. This sharing is known as content peering. It allows customers to extend their networks' reach and scope and make their content distribution truly global.

Network Appliance is the only company offering both storage networking solutions as well as caching appliances for management and delivery of content from the data center to the edge. This "end-to-end" approach leverages open protocols such as those the Content Alliance has formed to deliver.
