CUPERTINO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 29, 2000
NetManage (Nasdaq:NETM), a leading supplier of eBusiness access and application integration solutions, today announced that Alberta Treasury Branches' (ATB) Internet business banking system, ATB Online, which is based on NetManage's OnWeb(R) application development and integration framework, has been launched.
The new Internet cash management and business banking system became available to ATB's business customers in January 2000, and over 1000 customers signed up for the service during the first 90 days. ATB is the ninth largest financial institution in Canada.
Designed for small- to medium-sized businesses, the new system streamlines the cash management and other business banking processes for ATB's corporate customers. Intuitive, easy-to-use and easily accessible through the Internet, the Web-based business banking system will improve access to critical banking services for ATB's business customers.
"We have two goals for this new eBusiness banking system," said Sheldon Dyck, vice president, business financial services at ATB. "First, we want to ensure that our current customers have a flexible and accessible banking and cash management system that serves their needs. Second, we want to leverage the benefit and value of this new eBusiness approach to banking to win new customers and increase our market share."
A previous dial-up process is being replaced with a system that is efficient and intuitive, allowing customers to view account balances, pay bills, transfer funds and perform other business banking activities such as electronic funds transfer (EFT). OnWeb provided the ability to create a new application that streamlined various processes by connecting to ATB's existing banking system, thus satisfying customers while protecting and leveraging ATB's considerable investment in enterprise computing and data collection.
"Customers such as ATB are a testament to the ability of OnWeb to leverage existing enterprise information systems and business processes and transform them into powerful eBusiness applications," said Zvi Alon, president and CEO of NetManage. "We are excited that the ATB Online business banking system has gone live, and we are committed to identifying new ways that ATB can bridge the gap between the Internet and their existing network infrastructure to increase customer satisfaction and market share."
