Expanding performance capabilities for the company's popular Apollo Series of personal computers, Premio Computer Inc., a leading manufacturer of PC desktops, workstations and servers, Tuesday announced the introduction of the Apollo(R) 815EA desktop incorporating the latest Intel(R) 815E Chipset. The new high-speed, high-performance workstations support Intel(R) Pentium(R) III Processors 550 to 933 MHz and 1 GHz.

The Apollo 815EA features an ATX form factor that accommodates a variety of peripherals. Ideally suited for the graphic-intensive applications increasingly required in business, education and government environments, the Apollo 815EA integrates a display controller that supports 32-bit 133MHz SDRAM array for superior 3D graphics performance. Providing optimum flexibility, the 815EA features onboard Intel Direct AGP video and an open AGP 2x/4x slot. Customers can use the onboard video and add a 4MB GPA module (Graphics Performance Accelerator) to the AGP slot for optimal 3D performance. Alternatively, customers can add the latest AGP video card to the AGP slot.

"The new Apollo 815EA allows any size business to employ high performance desktop computers at an affordable price by choosing the processor, operating system and options to meet their technology and budget requirements," said Frank Valdespino, Premio Marketing Director. "With a broad range of cutting-edge technology features, the Apollo 815EA, outperforms many competitors' systems while offering a wide variety of options that allow users to enhance the computer's capabilities."

The Apollo 815EA is the first desktop to handle ATA-100 IDE hard drives, offering additional drive performance and functionality.

Other outstanding features of the new system include support of four DIMM sockets allowing for up to 512MB SDRAM and table free memory, four USB ports (two in front, two in rear), an ICH2 chip supporting four or six channel integrated audio.

The new Apollo systems also feature Premio's customized PC Quick Fix software allowing convenient diagnosis of technical problems. This advanced software allows desktops and servers to undergo a self-healing reconstruction process to recover deleted or damaged files and repair corrupted system files. The software can also connect the user directly to a live Premio support analyst for a real time chat session and diagnosis of problems online.

All Apollo 815EA systems are built to order, allowing complete customization for individual requirements. Priced starting at $1,799, the standard configuration includes Pentium III 1GHz processor, 128MB SDRAM (PC133), 20 GB hard drive, 32MB graphics, 12 x DVD, 10/100 Ethernet interface, Windows 98, floppy drive, keyboard, and mouse.
