CDKnet and ValueFlash.com Form Exclusive Agreement With EMI Christian Music Group

Business Wire, August 30, 2000

Business and Entertainment Editors

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 30, 2000

Leading Christian Music Label Group to Bring Cutting-Edge

Technology to Fastest Growing Music Segment

CDKnet, LLC, a leading Internet entertainment technology company, and its sister company, ValueFlash.com, a leading developer of targeted, interactive direct marketing applications, today announced they are teaming with EMI Christian Music Group, Inc., the music industry's leading label group for the Christian music genre. Both CDKnet and ValueFlash are subsidiaries of CDKnet.com, Inc. (OTC BB: CDKX) a New York-based Internet holding company.

The agreement calls for EMI-CMG to receive two-year category exclusivity, to include both CDK and Vflash technology on retail CDs distributed by EMI-CMG, for the WorldWide Christian Music market. In return, ValueFlash and/or CDKnet will receive a royalty on CDs containing the technology.

The Christian/Gospel music genre has experienced significant growth over the past year. As reported by SoundScan, Inc., 1999's year-end sales figures for Christian/Gospel music reached 49.8 million units sold (albums and singles). Further, during 1999, the Christian genre's 11.5% growth outpaced the music industry as a whole, which saw an increase of 6.2%.

"EMI-CMG is excited about this partnership with CDKnet and ValueFlash as it offers attainable long-term benefits for each of us," said David Caldwell, Sparrow Label Group's senior vice president, General Manager. "The CDK technology gives consumers a premium in the form of high-quality, full-screen video. And the Vflash technology, which really is the jewel in the deal, caters to the consumer's personal interests by allowing them to customize the information they're receiving on specific artists and tours."

The first project to reach market as a result of this alliance is a multimedia CD for the group Switchfoot. The band's forthcoming album, "Learning to Breathe," will include eleven new audio tracks as well as two music videos. The Switchfoot CD will also include a link to download the EMI-CMG Vflash messenger.

CDKnet's technology enables the delivery of multimedia content, including full screen/full-motion video, digital audio and e-commerce hyperlinks via a standard CD. The Vflash(TM) electronic messaging application, will allow Christian music fans to request specific information about their favorite artists and sub-genres. Based on these user preferences, EMI-CMG and Vflash are able to deliver customized content to the user's desktop on an ongoing basis in real time.

"The Christian music genre has a very strong and loyal following," said Michael Jolly, ValueFlash executive vice president. "We expect that fans of Christian music will quickly adopt the Vflash technology and will come to rely on Vflash for up to date information on their favorite artists."

This latest announcement from CDKnet and ValueFlash comes on the heels of the companies' agreements with both NBC and Blockbuster to provide CDK and Vflash technologies for their respective digital marketing programs.
