FORT MYERS, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 30, 2000
Chico's FAS, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHCS) today announced August sales results for the four week period ended August 26, 2000.
Total sales for the four week period ended August 26, 2000 increased 67.9 percent to $18.3 million from $11.0 million reported for the four week period ended August 28, 1999. Comparable store sales for the Company-owned stores increased 37.2 percent for the four week period ended August 26, 2000.
For the thirty weeks ended August 26, 2000, total sales increased 61.3 percent to $135.6 million from $84.2 million for the same period in 1999. Comparable store sales for the Company-owned stores increased 33.2 percent for the thirty week period.
Chico's sells exclusively designed, private-label women's casual clothing and related accessories. The Company operates a chain of 219 stores in 38 states and the District of Columbia. The Company owns 209 stores, franchisees own 10.
