MORGAN HILL, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 2000
GraphOn Corporation, (Nasdaq:GOJO) (www.graphon.com), developers of Bridges web-enabling software for Windows, UNIX, and Linux applications, today announced it has signed a licensing and technology agreement with international independent business software solutions provider, Cincom Systems. The three-year licensing agreement, with a potential value of up to $17.5 million, enables Cincom to immediately private-label GraphOn Bridges software to transparently web-enable all Cincom applications, including sales force automation, manufacturing, e-commerce, ERP, CRM and document management. Cincom's ASP division, CinAPPS, will offer the applications for rent as part of its total outsourcing services to customers anywhere in the world for use on any PC, laptop or Internet-connected device, without the need for any additional hardware or third party software add-ons.

After offering software as a product in the 1960's, when it was common to give enterprise software away with hardware, Cincom established a full-service software firm, that included manufacturing and financial applications, as well as database and online system software. Recognized by BusinessWeek as one of eight leading privately held software companies, Cincom offers one of the most comprehensive product lines for organizations today.
"GraphOn's Bridges allows us to web-enable our applications quickly and smoothly," said General Manager of Cincom CinAPPS, Patrick Dowling. "With GraphOn Bridges we will minimize our time to market and can offer feature rich web-enabled applications immediately with the same look and feel our customers have grown to expect, without some of the limitations of traditional web front-ends, or the expense and complexity of rewriting our applications from the ground up."
By combining GraphOn Bridges with desktop versions of software applications, independent software vendors (ISVs), such as Cincom, can accelerate the time to market of web-enabled versions of their application without the risks and delays associated with rewriting the application or using third party solutions. GraphOn Bridges quickly integrates with existing Windows applications without sacrificing the full-featured look and feel of the original application, providing ISVs with out-of-the-box web-enabled versions of software applications with their own branding for licensed, volume distribution to enterprise customers or for rent over the Internet by application service providers (ASPs).
"Cincom is the classic example of the GraphOn customer, a top-ranking ISV looking to move existing enterprise-level applications to the Internet quickly, while maintaining account control and product branding," said Robin Ford, Executive Vice President of GraphOn Corp. "By web-enabling their critically acclaimed software using GraphOn Bridges, Cincom can offer their customers the flexibility and cost savings of web-enabled applications, while retaining the their own full-featured functionality and branding. They're able to build their leadership position in software and professional services by providing their applications over the Internet, through the ASP model, quickly, cost-effectively and without the need to re-train users."
