NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 2000
This year's hottest celebrity wedding moment? Jennifer Aniston floating down the aisle in a stunning couture dress to tie the knot with her leading man, Brad Pitt. Now, The Knot (www.theknot.com; AOL keyword: weddings) - the No.1 wedding website and gift registry - is giving one lucky bride-to-be the knockout wedding-gown look the "Friends" star wore when she said "I do". Users can enter The Knot Star Style Gown Giveaway to win a stunning replica of Aniston's $52,000 Lawrence Steele gown created by A.B.S by Allen Schwartz.
"Every bride wants to look like a star when she walks down the aisle," says Carley Roney, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of The Knot. "Unfortunately, most brides can't afford a $52,000 price tag. We want to offer our users the opportunity to achieve Jennifer Aniston's gorgeous wedding-day look at a realistic price."
The gorgeous look-alike gown designed by A.B.S is valued at $350 and will be available in stores later this fall. The designer's recently launched bridal collection, featuring affordable, stylish gowns in sizes 2-14, will debut in stores in December 2000.
For a chance to win the gown, participants can log on to The Knot at www.theknot.com or the America Online "Weddings" area (AOL kw: weddings) and take a quick, star-style wedding gown poll. The contest began August 8, 2000 at 5pm EST and runs through midnight EST on Monday, August 14, 2000 after which the winning bride-to-be will be selected in a random drawing.
Brides can enter online at www.theknot.com/starstyle or they can mail their entry via postcard to: 462 Broadway, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10013, Attn: "Star Style Sweepstakes." Online entries must be received by midnight, 8/14/00; mail entries must be postmarked by 8/12/00 and received by 8/14/00.
