Company description: Flexsteel Industries, Inc., a furniture manufacturer since 1893, today markets its upholstered and leather furniture (sofas, chairs, love seats, recliners, and sofa sleepers) throughout the United States. A unique, unitized blue steel spring gave the company its name and also valuable metalworking expertise; this combination of skills has enabled the company to also become a leader in the design and manufacture of specialized seating for marine and recreational vehicles as well as for hospitality and health care.
Nine strategically-positioned factories, extensive computerization, and a fleet of delivery trucks allow fast delivery, even of custom orders to dealers nation-wide. The company provides extensive advertising and other dealer support. Today 259 dealers include Flexsteel Galleries in their retail stores; another 21 show the complete line in their Comfort Seating Showrooms, providing significant growth opportunities for both dealer and manufacturer. The Company's strategic plan is focused on identifying and using key growth opportunities in its three major markets: retail furniture dealers, including multi-store regional marketers; recreational vehicle seating; and contract applications, including hospitality and health care.
Flexsteel's nine factories employ over 2500 persons. Sales in the last fiscal year were $286,860,000.
