Nashville Selects Link2Gov to Build City's Web Portal; Contract Highlights Partnership with Microsoft to Deliver 24x7 Citizen Services

Link2Gov today announced the company was awarded a contract to build a comprehensive website for Metro Nashville and Davidson County. The new website, also known as a "portal" for the array of services it offers and as a gateway to the Internet, will provide Nashville and Davidson County citizens access to a variety of government services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Link2Gov, based in Nashville, will design the site in partnership with Microsoft Corp., which will provide supporting infrastructure technology and development tools. Link2Gov will also leverage many of the concepts in Microsoft's Government Portal Framework. The partnership will result in a sophisticated website that provides a powerful tool for citizens to more easily interact and communicate with various city departments and their employees. Link2Gov will also build a city Intranet that will facilitate the exchange of documents, ideas and information between city employees.

Link2Gov will begin development on Metro's site in the next several weeks. The development will be a joint effort between the city and Link2Gov, along with input from citizens.
