NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 18, 2000

Jeffrey M. King has been appointed President and CEO of Road Runner, the national provider of high-speed online services to cable systems across the country. The appointment, announced by Glenn A. Britt, President of Time Warner Cable, takes place simultaneously with the announcement of the restructuring of the ownership of the Road Runner service by its partners, Time Warner Cable and AT&T. King succeeds William T. Gordon, III, who had served as president of Road Runner since February, 2000, and will remain with the venture during the restructuring period.

"Jeff King is an outstanding executive with many years of success rolling out new digital businesses on broadband networks," said Britt. "He was particularly successful in launching Road Runner in the Albany, New York region and has a strong grasp of the great possibilities for the high-speed online business. Jeff's selection to run Road Runner is a powerful signal of Time Warner Cable's strong commitment to growing this business. We also thank Bill Gordon for his many contributions in helping build Road Runner to its present high level of success and we appreciate his willingness to stay on during the transition to help Jeff off to a strong start."

King had been President of Time Warner Cable's Southwest Texas Division since September, 1999. Before that he had held the same position in Albany since 1995, where he successfully integrated the operations of Time Warner Cable, Cablevision Industries and NewChannels, as well as managing the fiber optic upgrade and launch of Road Runner. He also was Division President of the Charlotte, NC, division starting in 1984, having working in cable system management since joining the company in 1972. A native of Indiana, King attended Indiana State University.

Time Warner Cable owns and manages the world's most advanced, best-clustered cable television operations, with 90 percent of its 12.6 million customers in systems of 100,000 subscribers or more. It is a division of Time Warner Entertainment.
