Quebecor World Inc. Human Resources Function Wins 'Workforce Optimas Award'

Workforce Magazine has announced that the Quebecor World Inc.(TSE:IQW.) (NYSE:IQW) Human Resources Department has won one of its annual Workforce Optimas Awards, for 2001.

The award is given annually to 10 outstanding organizations that have demonstrated how HR strategies, policies, and programs impact the success of their organization. The purpose of the award is to recognize HR management teams that have "pushed HR beyond the outdated stereotype of the paper-pushing, picnic-planning policy police, and on to assisting their companies to record profits, greater market share, higher stock value and better corporate reputations. In short, they have made their businesses better."

Quebecor World won in the Competitive Advantage category, for its "ALLSTAR" Training Program. ALLSTAR is a nine-day program designed to train account managers and CSRs in the basic and advanced competencies essential for effective interaction with customers. It has won superb feedback within the company and is now receiving national recognition in the United States. ALLSTAR was developed jointly with Lake Forest Graduate School of Management, in Lake Forest, Ill. The results of the program have been an increase in customer satisfaction, a decrease in the cost of errors, a decrease in turnaround time and improved internal and external communications, all giving the company a competitive advantage over our competition. More than 450 Quebecor employees have graduated from the program.

Marc Shapiro, Senior Vice President of Human Resources, will receive the award in March, 2001, on behalf of the Human Resources organization and Quebecor World.
