NORWALK, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 4, 2000

Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC(TM))'s Communications Solutions(TM) magazine, the premier publication covering the technologies driving voice and data convergence, is pleased to announce the selection of this year's companies and products to receive Product of the Year Awards for 2000. The complete list of winners will be published in the January issue of Communications Solutions(TM).

The Communications Solutions(TM) Product of the Year award honors innovative products and services that have furthered voice/data convergence.

"As the industry matures, we're finding more than just products and services on the market -- entire solutions are being offered," said TMC president and group publisher Rich Tehrani. "Communications Solutions(TM) magazine initiated the Product of the Year award program to help our readers sort through the vast proliferation of new products and services in the marketplace. The Product of the Year award, selected by the editors of Communications Solutions(TM) and the engineers of TMC Labs, is given to those select products that deserve the attention of forward-thinking organizations looking for best-of-breed solutions. We are pleased to honor the Product of the Year winners, as they lay the groundwork for the next generation of communications solutions."

Winners were selected based on a year-long process involving briefings at trade shows, discussions during on-site visits, interviews supplementing research for magazine articles, hands-on tests and demos, and, finally, a thorough review of formally submitted Product of The Year applications.

The January issue of Communications Solutions(TM) magazine is due to publish on January 8, 2001. A complete list of winners will also be available on that date at the Communications Solutions(TM) magazine Web site www.comsolmag.com.

About Communications Solutions(TM) magazine

Communications Solutions(TM) magazine focuses on the convergence of voice and data networks, emphasizing the platforms and applications that decrease communications costs, enhance productivity, and enable novel services and unprecedented business models, thanks to the flexibility offered by IP-based, Web-style telephony. Unlike other publications in the convergence space, Communications Solutions(TM) encompasses both nuts-and-bolts issues, such as those informing migration strategies from legacy to next-gen infrastructures, as well as broader issues, such as those raised by the ascendance of virtually (as opposed to vertically) integrated value chains, which link technological components, development platforms, networking equipment, and next-gen applications and services. As such, Communications Solutions(TM) magazine emphasizes the challenges and opportunities of standardized approaches, interoperability, and the competitive imperative to differentiate through successive value-add initiatives.
