About SmartGate
SmartGate is a client/server VPN software that enables organizations to securely deploy private application services to remote employees, customers, and business partners. SmartGate is specifically designed to address the challenges of deploying and managing large VPN user populations. SmartGate installs on firewall platforms or stand-alone platforms behind firewalls (on the trusted network).
SmartGate also offers the choice of integrated authentication components or the use of third-party authentication systems, including SecurID/ACE, RADIUS, and Entrust and Netrust digital certificates. V-ONE's patented On-Line Registration (OLR) process allows secure client deployments instantaneously, and is being made available to millions of users. The centralized user management of SmartGate permits both the easy addition of more clients and automatic updating of any new client software.
SmartGate features a Windows-based VPN management console, called SmartAdmin, that enables secure, remote administration of multiple SmartGate Servers.
About SmartGuard
V-ONE's SmartGuard VPN appliance uses V-ONE's patented SmartGate software VPN solution consisting of a powerful user authentication system, a user access control database, state-of-the-art encryption capabilities, user-friendly client software and an optional self-protecting firewall. SmartGuard's capabilities are fully integrated for immediate use and are manageable from a single PC.
SmartGuard is a pre-configured appliance, which uses a security hardened Linux operating system joined with Intel's high-speed computing platform. SmartGuard 4.1 supports thousands of users allowing for secure access from anywhere in the world. With its new site-to-site IPSec tunneling, SmartGuard allows for safe, trouble free office to office connectivity.
The SmartGuard server manages and monitors user authentication and access privileges, ensuring that only trusted users are allowed access. While SmartGuard has its own integrated authentication database, it can use other third-party databases, such as the industry standard RADIUS, or RSA Security's ACE/Server.
SmartGuard's versatility allows it to be quickly configured to provide maximum security to any Enterprise IP network. Because SmartGuard has been designed as a stand-alone security appliance it can be integrated into any operating system environment. With its wealth of clients ranging from Windows 95/98/NT, Windows CE, Pocket PC, Linux, Macintosh and Solaris, SmartGuard is a cost effective network security solution for today's government and commercial enterprises.
