Packaged Portal Adapter Connects Back-Office Applications

and Other Systems to EIP Framework for Fast Access to

Enterprise Information and Increased Efficiencies

SeeBeyond (Nasdaq: SBYN), the leading global provider of eBusiness Integration (eBI) solutions, and DataChannel Inc., a leader in Enterprise Information Portal (EIP) solutions, Wednesday announced the availability of their e*Way(TM) Intelligent Adapter for DataChannel Server (DCS).

The e*Way Intelligent Adapter for DCS enables the rapid connectivity of disparate CRM, ERP and legacy back-office applications with databases, documents, spreadsheets and Web content, allowing companies to more easily access business-critical data for enterprise portal connectivity.

SeeBeyond and DataChannel will demonstrate the e*Way Intelligent Adapter at the Enterprise Web and Portal Conference on Dec. 6 - 7, in booths 311 and 313.

Typically, users working with back-office application data while viewing other enterprise information cannot access both within the same portal view. The e*Way Intelligent Adapter unlocks the proprietary nature of back-end systems and integrates it with structured and unstructured information that originates from both inside the enterprise and outside the firewall.

Using XML, the data then is re-purposed for use with DCS and is accessible via a user's personalized start page. The e*Way Intelligent Adapter for DCS is a pre-packaged solution further accelerating access to critical enterprise information through the DataChannel portal and reducing the need for custom in-house development.

"As companies transition to doing business online, it is necessary to bring business critical information from back end systems like Siebel and Peoplesoft to the Web," said Brenda Fisher, vice president of Business Development for DataChannel.

"By working with SeeBeyond, we'll be providing companies the connectivity to more than 60 back-end systems through DCS so they can access this critical information, make more informed decisions, and leverage their existing IT investments."

"Most companies today are faced with the challenge of enabling access to business critical enterprise data through one window of a corporate portal," said Harry Gould, vice president of Global Alliances for SeeBeyond.

"Our joint portal integration offering allows companies to seamlessly aggregate enterprise data from disparate back-end systems through the DataChannel Enterprise Information Portal, providing operational efficiency and enhancing decision making for key business processes."

DataChannel and SeeBeyond will co-market and sell their joint e*Way Intelligent Adapter for DataChannel Server. They also will resell each other's flagship products, DataChannel Server and SeeBeyond e*Gate(TM) Integrator.
