Paradyne Networks Inc. (Nasdaq:PDYN) and Sierra Telephone, a California-based regional telecommunications company, announced today that Sierra Telephone has selected Paradyne's Hotwire(R) ReachDSL solution to offer business-class data services.
Sierra Telephone will deploy Paradyne's Hotwire GranDSLAM next-generation DSLAM (DSL Access Multiplexer) in six central offices (COs) and currently serves more than 23,000 customers in the Central Sierras below Yosemite National Park. The company will also deploy SDSL and ADSL to its business and residential customers.
"Paradyne's combination of innovative solutions like ReachDSL and its standards-based SDSL and ADSL will enable us to serve the broadest range of customers in our market as part of our overall plan to be the premier provider of telecommunications services," said Harry Baker, president of Sierra Telephone.
Paradyne's Hotwire ReachDSL provides the industry's first and only line-sharing compatible and customer installable solution that provides market coverage in excess of 24,000 ft. and guarantees service coverage to 18,000 ft.
